Kimberly Tenold, PA-C

Family Practice

Institution and Location – Physician Assistant Program at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Personal Statement – Although my medical career spans over 25 years of combined experience in family practice, internal medicine, geriatrics, urgent care, and occupational health, my primary passion is to serve the residents in the same rural community my own family calls home.

Why do you enjoy working for FHS? OR What are you looking forward to while working for FHS? – My husband, two teenage boys, and our mischievous golden doodle live in the Sun Valley area. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing and other outdoor adventures. When the weather keeps us indoors, I enjoy cooking for my family and playing Spanish classical guitar music. I also enjoy cheering for my boys on the soccer fields and tennis courts. I am looking forward to joining the team at Family Health Services in order to provide exceptional health care to my new neighbors and friends in the community.

Bryce Bennion

Pharmacist

Alisa Barnes, PA-C

Family Practice

Institution and Location – Graduated from the Physician Assistant Program from the University of Utah School of Medicine

Personal Statement – I have spent the last 16 years in family and pediatric medicine in California, Utah, Idaho, and in medical aid programs in Central America and Southeast Asia. My joy in medicine comes from taking the time with my patients to understand their unique healthcare needs. I believe in utilizing nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and medication when needed to improve both physical and mental health.

Why do you enjoy working for FHS? OR What are you looking forward to while working for FHS? – I’m excited to join the team at Family Health Services in our beautiful Sun Valley community. Together with my husband, I enjoy exploring the incredible beauty of the Sawtooths, a good hot spring soak, and hammock time after paddle boarding.

Brad Williams, DDS

General Dentistry | Surgical Dentistry

Institution and Location – Received an Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Utah and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Personal Statement – I lived in the Boise area for over 20 years and have been blessed to have raised my family there. I have three children, two daughters and a son. My eldest daughter upgraded my title to Grandpa two years ago with her son, Boon. My son is a real athletic guy that can do pretty much anything–from basketball, and baseball, to football–but his real passion has been baseball for the last few years. Both of my daughters grew up figure skating and we have been traveling to the Sun Valley area for the last 14 years for competitions and shows. I fell in love with the Valley and I have always wanted to one day have a place of my own here. I enjoy fishing, camping, and skiing, and I have also acquired a new hobby of playing the drums. I have been taking lessons on a weekly basis, and can’t wait for what is to come.

Why do you enjoy working for FHS? OR What are you looking forward to while working for FHS? – I am looking forward to working for FHS because it really feels like a family. This is a great team that I know will assist me in providing quality care for those in the community.

Todd Wilson, DMD

General Dentistry

My wife, Kashina, and I have four young children. All boys, so my poor wife gets to deal with five rowdy boys all the time. My wife and I were both born and raised in the Great White North (Canada), and following dental school in Las Vegas moved our family to Burley.

Being from Canada I am a huge hockey fan, but also enjoy watching and playing almost any other sport as well. Most of my spare time is spent travelling and spending time with the family.

Why do you enjoy working for FHS?
The great thing about working for Family Health Services is all the amazing people that I have the opportunity to work with while helping to provide great oral health care to our patients in the Burley area.

My husband Brett and I have 1 daughter, her name is Presley. Other than a year playing college basketball out of state, I have always lived in the
Mini-Cassia area and I am proud to call it home.

My family loves to spend time together outside. We are often camping,
fishing, hunting, or golfing.

Why do you enjoy working for FHS?
I have enjoyed working for FHS and serving the community I know and love.

Jordan Sheffer

Jordan Sheffer, PharmD, PIC

Pharmacist

I have been married since 2003 to my wife Becky.  We spent our first two years dating EVERY day!  Since having 5 kids (BBGBB), we’ve tried to keep our relationship fun and treasure the little time we have alone.  We love our kids to pieces and we’re proud of them.

We love kayaking and playing on the Snake River in the summer, and skiing down Pomerelle in the winter.  We are active in our church and community.  We love about every sport with a ball, and love to play card/board games.

Why do you love working for FHS?
I LOVE working for FHS because we make healthcare accessible to patients that are typically unable to receive great medical care. We have patients that tell us almost every time they come in how appreciative they are for our services. And of course I love working for Aaron.  He gives us plenty of elbow room to run our pharmacies, provides us with the tools for success, and is always so stinkin’ cheerful.

As a native to Southern Idaho, I am happy to be back by family and the wonderful community I love. My husband, Jeff, and children, Abbie, Garrett and Sawyer recently moved back from the Pacific Northwest and enjoy exploring the outdoors with our two Labradors, Loki and Odin. I especially love to seek out new places to travel, dance, hike, ski and fish.
I enjoy volunteering as a mentor for the youth, helping them build self-confidence, interview techniques, information on preventing drug and alcohol addiction and developing educational skills for their future. I consider my greatest accomplishment raising three wonderful children with my husband Jeff.
I am looking forward to establishing a new practice in a rural community where patients are often underserved. I am impressed that Family Health Services mission is to provide patient centered care with excellence in quality, service and access for all. I am to be excited to working with other professionals whose goals align with mine and are dedicated to better health and wellness for those we serve.

I am an only child and I am not married, nor do I have any children.

I have three dogs and own a bunch of cows and a few horses. I am a pro rodeo steer wrestler. That is the event in rodeo, which the guy jumps off the horse and throws a 500-600 pound steer to the ground. I love to hunt and go boating when I can. I just bought a house. Between fixing up my house, hunting, doing rodeo, and taking care of my animals I live a pretty active lifestyle.

Why do you love working for FHS?
As a hygienist, there is nothing more satisfying than having a patient smile and get giddy after I am through cleaning their teeth. It is an awesome feeling knowing I can make a difference in someone’s life after coming in to get a cleaning.

We have a 9-year-old son, Colin, who is fascinated by classic Halloween monsters (Frankenstein, Wolfman, Dracula, the Mummy, etc). He would tell you that he can draw them even better than his father, but he is a pathological liar. We are also in the process of adopting a super-cute 3 month-old girl named Clara Marie.

I read a lot of books, averaging three or four at a time, mostly fiction.  I’m really good at Halo unless I’m playing against 12-year-olds, then I get wasted.  I’m super busy with church duties, but its great being with a bunch of youth there, especially boys, since I’m boy-deficient in my home.  I play volleyball pretty well and tennis not so well.

Why do you love working for FHS?
I love working at FHS because I feel like we are all on the same team trying to do the right thing for the right reasons. It’s a wonderful feeling to help others who otherwise would not get it anywhere else. That’s what I wanted when I started school and that’s what FHS gives me.

My wife and I have three amazing children ranging in age from eight years old to three years old.  They seem to surprise us every day, and we learn about ourselves constantly while trying to keep up with them.   We’ve lived in Twin Falls for thirteen years, and a love of all outdoor family activities including skiing, camping, and general adventuring are some of the reasons we want to live here.

I love to ski and run. I thought I might be a ski instructor and a fishing guide at one point, but then I met my wife and decided to settle down in Idaho.  I’ve never regretted this, and I still ski and fish. I don’t like to wake up early and run, but I do and I’m glad!

Why do you love working for FHS?
Working at FHS is an amazing opportunity for me to provide medical care to people from a diverse background in a supportive environment. I particularly love providing obstetric care to expectant mothers, and working to deliver healthy babies has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

My wife, Tiffany, and I are parents to four young children who keep us on our toes. In 2016, we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. As a family, we enjoy hanging out with one another and exploring some of the great things that Southern Idaho has to offer. We are not too adventurous and our idea of camping involves roasting marshmallows in our backyard.

I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy spending as much time as I can on the golf course. I enjoy tinkering around my home and going on bike rides with my kids.

Why do you love working for FHS?
Being a Physician Assistant for Family Health Services is very rewarding. I love the opportunity I have to develop relationships of trust with my patients. It is my privilege to participate in their health and help them work towards their goals. In turn, I go home each night feeling satisfied, fulfilled and content.

In utilizing a person-centered, strengths-based approach, I take into account the emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of each individual. I enjoy working with socially diverse populations, ages 15 and up, and have experience working with individuals facing various life stressors including: adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring substance use. Through integrating techniques from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, I aim to identify the best fit for each individual’s treatment needs.

Noe Alonzo, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

After over twenty years of working as a social worker, I was offered the opportunity to retire. After a couple of years of chasing after my hobbies and interests, I decided that it was time return to an old passion. That passion is helping others. I came to the twin falls area as part of the interview process and found it physically beautiful. After two days here, I was struck by the kindness and friendliness of people here. So yes, I did find the twin falls area cold, but the people warm. I hope that I can be of service to the people of twin falls and I look forward to meeting you.

FAMILY: I am currently living on my own and the proud father of an adult daughter. She is now living on her own and working in her career as a paralegal. My extended family lives in south Texas. I have a sibling living in Illinois (where I grew up). The other two have moved to Texas.

INTERESTST HOBBIES: I have an interest in spirituality and religions. Social Justice is another interest, but feel that I have not done enough personally. At the ground level, I enjoy photography and travel. Music is another passion, simply listening to it at home is as far as that goes, but would like to learn drumming.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: I am looking forward to meeting the diverse people of the Twin Falls Area and my peers at work. I am interested in finding out the unique problems of the area and learning how I can help.

POSITIONS AND EMPLOYMENT:
With close to 30 years of professional experience, I can only give an overview. I started as a bachelor level social worker in Chicago. I started at Pilsen/Little Village Community Mental Health Center in 1991 as a counselor in a homeless shelter for families. I was later offered a position working in a program serving the severely mentally ill. Here I learned about psychosis and the people that suffered from that as well as community resources. After receiving my masters in 1996, I went on to work at what was then known as the West Side VA Hospital in Chicago. Here I continued working with the severely mentally population, but this time they were veterans with more resources. I eventually left the VA and moved to Texas in 1998. I joined the Army Reserve as well and completed three tours of duty as a social work officer. I was able to return to the VA during this time and was able to work with veterans with a deeper understanding this time around. During these appointments, I worked with victims of sexual assault in the Army as well as the command structure to address this issue. I also have worked with families and children suffering from the consequences of deployment. I also was able to work with those suffering from combat trauma as well as addictions. My time in the VA and the Army were both been very rewarding.
